How to Not Die a Horrible Death at ShB Hunts
Amh Araeng
Sugaar
Body Slam: circular melee-range aoe, applies a stacking uncleansable vulnerability up debuff - has a cast, but no ground telegraph
Tail Snap: conal aoe behind Sugaar, applies a stacking uncleansable vulnerability up debuff - has a cast, but no ground telegraph
Numbing Noise: conal tankbuster, applies a stacking uncleansable vulnerability up debuff - has a cast, but no ground telegraph
Sugaar will cast Tail Snap or Numbing noise with rotating arrows around him - he will then perform that move 3x, rotating between each hit - anti-knockbacks prevent this (Tail Snap always rotates clockwise, Numbing Noise always counterclockwise)
TLDR;
-
If you can, stay at far range. Use anti-knockbacks when you see the arrows around Sugaar. If there are many players, the further you are, the more likely you won’t get drawn in at all.
-
If you can’t stay at far range, stay at Sugaar’s sides and run out when you see Numbing Noise cast. Dodge Sugaar’s rotating attacks (duh).
Maliktender
Sabotendance: circular melee-range aoe, knockbacks and stuns - has a cast, but no ground telegraph
50,000 Needles: line aoe where Maliktender is facing - has a cast, but no ground telegraph
99,000 Needles: same as 50,000 needles but does 990,000 damage (not 99,000)
Haste: applies a haste buff to Sugaar
TLDR;
-
If you can, stay at far range (literally nothing will hit you).
-
It is easier to dodge 50,000 and 99,000 Needles in melee range than at halfway out, and Sugaar generally moves before his Sabotendance casts, so staying in melee and dodging is fairly easy.
